Sekhar kammula selected for Cannes Film Festival

Tollyville can rejoice. For the first time, a Telugu director has been selected to be part of a director's delegation that will represent Indian cinema at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival. Filmmaker Sekhar Kammula is set to hobnob with the who's who at Cannes.
The director has been selected by National Film Development Corporation(NFDC) as part of the group that includes Anurag Kashyap, Anusha Rizvi, Dibakar Banerjee, Lakshmikant Shetgaonkar and Haobam Paban Kumar, a documentary filmmaker from Manipur. Incidentally, Sekhar's first Telugu film "Anand" was co-financed by NFDC. His flicks "Godavari", "Happy Days" and "Leader" ushered in a new style in film making in the formula-ridden Telugu film industry. He successfully completed the trip and came back to india from france.
