Indian one the only t20 match against west indies

The current cricket captain of India of the West Indies tour, Suresh Raina has the previous experience to lead the team in the year of 2010. But that series was not a good memory for Raina. Although India was able to win one match between the two against England, they were defeated in both the matches against Zimbabwe and failed to reach the final. After one year, in the same condition Raina is again the captain of India in this West Indies tour. Although it is very tough to tell the ending, his starting has become very good.

Yesterday in Port of Spain, India got victory over West Indies by 16 runs in the only T20 match of the tour. The captain of West Indies, D Sammy won the toss and invited India to do batting first. He proved his decision fruitful taking 4 wickets in 56 runs. But all other bowlers of West Indies were helpless to the Indian batsmen. As a result India was able to collect total 159 runs losing 6 wickets. Mainly the partnership of the fifth wicket of Badrinath and R Sharma saved India. Badrinath scored 43 runs from 37 balls with 5 boundaries. On the other hand, Sharma scored 26 runs from 23 balls with 2 over-boundaries. Before that the opener Patel added 26 runs in the scoreboard playing 20 balls with 2 fours and 1 six. Pathan and Harbhajan Singh were unbeaten up to the last scoring 15 runs each. Sammy got 4 wickets for West Indies giving only 16 runs. Besides, Bishoo and Barnwell got 1 wicket each.

In order to chase the 159 runs of India, West Indies lost the two openers in the beginning. Fletcher and Simmons scored 11 and 9 runs respectively. Bravo and Samuels tried to save the team from dangerous position. But in the sixteenth over, these two batsmen became out in 2 balls difference in the ball of Harbhajan Singh. Bravo scored 41 runs from 41 balls with 5 boundaries. Samuels scored 27 runs from 29 balls with 3 boundaries. AT last, Barnwell became very aggressive and tried to reach the goal. He scored 34 runs from only 16 balls with 2 fours and 3 sixes remaining not out up to the last. But he could not reach the target. West Indies had to finish the innings in 143 runs losing 5 wickets. Harbhajan Singh got 2 wickets for India. Besides Kumar, Ashwin and Patel got 1 wicket each. Badrinath of India became the man of the match.
